I have not had any problems with this mouse. Maybe for my personal use, the cord could have been just a tad longer, but it's still a good mouse.

Once upon a time, my first notebook mouse was a Logitech Optical Notebook Mouse Plus. The innovation, from 2004, was that you could wrap the cord around the mouse for easy storage and travel. Fast forward to 2010. The M125 is the latest corded notebook mouse by Logitech and it's still pretty good, as basic mice go.
PROS:

- Mac, PC, and Linux compatible without software
CONS:
- Cord curls up
- Uncomfortable for even small hands
Compared to my old Notebook Optical Mouse Plus, the M125 looks as if it's been in a head on crash. It's shorter overall but a bit higher on the rump area. It looks cuter, but is definitely harder to grip. The mouse is all plastic and there are no rubber grips to help. I have pretty small hands so if I can't grip it comfortably, I doubt anyone other than small children will either.
The 1000dpi optical sensor is nice and accurate. The right and left buttons have a good feel, as does the wheel button. The scroll wheel is flatter on the scrolling surface, which doesn't appear to have any distinct advantages or disadvantages. The M125 does not require any software. Once plugged in, your operating system's generic mouse driver should work fine.
The best feature of the M125 mouse is the retractable cord and magnetic holder for the USB plug. It's pretty short, but should be plenty long enough if you're mousing next to your laptop. The only other item of note on the cord is that it is a flat cord that has a tendency to coil. I only got the M125 because I like to have a corded mouse for emergencies since ALL of my other desktop and notebook mice are cordless. The M125 is small and easy to store for that purpose. I also liked the magnetic holder for the USB plug. Instead of having a button-like holder for the USB plug, there is a magnet where the plug is stored and it snaps right into place.
I like the M125 overall and is a reasonably good value for a basic corded notebook mouse, but Logitech could have done better. Even still, there are so many wireless notebook mice out there for only slightly more money, that I don't know why anyone would go through the trouble of a cord, retractable or not. Comfort also isn't the M125's strong suit so unless you are desperate for a corded notebook mouse, I would probably seek out an alternative.

This mouse is just about perfect for my needs. First of all, the price was right. I needed a mouse for my netbook, which has a really bad touchpad, nothing I do to the settings makes the touchpad work much better.
This mouse immediately made my netbook a LOT easier to use. I didn't want a wireless mouse because we had problems with them at work (but someone theorized it was just too many wireless mice too close together, causing signal interference?). I confess I DO have a small hand even though I'm an adult woman (I had to use child size white gloves in the high school marching band), so this mouse size seems perfect. I like that it is compact and lightweight for traveling.
The only drawback I see is yes, the cord tends to curl up. But if I dangle the mouse before use and let it spin itself out, it is better, altho it still has a tendency to curl up. The short length of the cord is not an issue for me, it is long enough to reach either to the right of the netbook if I am at a desk, or to the right of me when I'm on the sofa.
I would recommend this mouse to anyone with small hands looking for a lightweight mouse for traveling. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the cord curling.
